New-ish. FYI.
Is anyone else getting this with disqus?
As you see here a longstanding blog with literally thousands of more words (top), and 6 times the posted content, gets weighted lower, because the amount of original content.
This shows that the folks at tumblr are heavily trying to reward original content. Which is comendable.
And now we know, how it works.
A couple problems I see:
1) Re blogging something, stripping attribution, downloading it and uploading it, becomes rewarded, but ends up the same echo chamber of repeated content. Incentive to cheat.
2) In some cases a reblog has added content and value, there is an indirect disincentive to add to the conversation.
The biggest problem is that the chart doesn’t communicate this goal clearly, leaving (as in this example) the hardest working blogger, below the lazier yet original blogger, causing emotional stress.

Theme designers! You can now include liked posts in your themes.
Get instructions in the Theme Docs.
See it in action on garyvaynerchuk.com and Newsweek.
Try it on your own blog with The Atlantic and Papercut themes.
I just want to take note that some of the new theme features are very rich and user friendly. Items like: Add Header Image, Add Background Image, etc. very useful for non-code monkeys.
